Description:
As an Experienced “Business Improvement Engineer”, you will be involved in evaluating and implementing process improvements across all the operating divisions. You will identify the changes required from “as is” to “to be” on all internal processes and map compliance to the highest external standards (ISO etc). You will also determine what the ‘future-state’ processes should be and help drive the required changes through the organisation.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Promote a culture of continuous improvement and acceptance of change through working with staff at all levels throughout the business.

You will influence, change and revolutionise the cultural, operational and management systems on site. This will require making ‘Lean’ initiatives high profile, visible and high priority throughout the business.

Responsible for the identification and removal of waste, focused both in operations and business processes to set and then deliver business targets and objectives.

The post holder will lead the implementation and embedding of future state processes, which will include being responsible for training and mentoring in ‘lean’ principles and practices at all levels in the business, and auditing compliance to processs.

Proven experience utilising the following tools and techniques is required:

- 5C, process mapping, 7 wastes, work observation, problem solving (5 why, cause and effect), data analysis, line balance, collaborative planning (Last Planner)

Ability to work autonomously and self manage improvement projects.

We would be interested to hear from applicants with experience as Production Engineers or Manufacturing Engineers who currently deliver continuous improvement projects as part of their role and want to focus purely on ‘Lean’ and ‘Business Improvement’ activities.
Qualifications Required:
Should hold an Engineering, Construction or Business degree or equivalent
Qualified, and/or experienced, in ‘Lean’ techniques
Experienced auditor, with knowledge of ISO 9001 standard

Candidate Requirements:
Highly analytical with a strong awareness of business and IT systems and their interaction
Ability to design and develop business processes
Effective communication skills across all levels of Management, IT specialists and stakeholders is essential.
Industry knowledge of business analysis techniques, data management practices and methodologies is essential
Understanding of business process re-engineering/process improvement and ‘Lean’
Ability to define, communicate and manage clear project plans with associated resource requirements and benefits
