Shepherd Construction has handed over the final phase of development at St Paul’s Square in Liverpool, delivering Merseyside’s first speculatively built BREEAM ‘Excellent’ building.
No 4 St Paul’s Square, a 109,000 sq ft Grade A speculative office development, was this week handed over to English Cities Fund (ECf) – a joint venture between Muse Developments, Legal & General Property and the Homes and Communities Agency.
The £32 million building, designed by architects RHWL, was completed ahead of schedule and was officially opened by Rt. Hon Lord Heseltine and Sir Michael Lyons, ECf chairman.
No 4 includes a number of sustainable features, including a sedum roof, designed to reduce carbon emissions by more than 22%.
The project recently won a RICS award for best commercial development in the North West.
Darran Lawless, development director for Muse Developments – ECf’s development manager, said: “ECf is extremely proud of the work that has been achieved at St Paul’s Square. The scheme has played a major role in the renaissance of Liverpool’s commercial offering and has set new standards in terms of architecture, design, quality and sustainability.”
