Shepherd Brings Glad Tidings To University Of York
The University of York received an early Christmas gift this week after Shepherd Construction donated tables worth over £3,000 for use in the University’s new Harry Fairhurst building.
Shepherd, which has a long association with the University, completed the refurbishment of the Harry Fairhurst building earlier this year, creating a modern IT-rich study and research facility. The addition of the tables will further enhance the facilities available to students in the Harry Fairhurst building.
Liz Waller, from the University of York said: “We are very pleased to receive these laptop tables on behalf of our customers. They are just what we need to help the students make best use of the comfortable seating in the Fairhurst Building. We thank Shepherd for the gift which will be a lasting presence after the building work is completed.”
Colin Sargeant, Shepherd Construction’s managing director for the East Division added: “We’re delighted to make this donation as we have always enjoyed working with the University and we know that having access to the best facilities and creating the right learning environment can make a great deal of difference to today’s students.”
Shepherd is also currently in the final phase of modernising the University’s J B Morrell Library. Work is due to complete early in 2012.
