York MP Visits Site Of New School
York Central MP Hugh Bayley visited the site of a new school that Shepherd Construction is in the process of building in the city.
York Central MP Hugh Bayley visited the site of a new school that Shepherd Construction is in the process of building in the city.
Mr Bayley saw how work was progressing on the new Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Primary School.
Mr Bayley previously visited the school in January when the infrastructure was in place but since then the steel structure, roof and external walls have been erected. The windows and internal walls are currently being fitted and these are almost complete on the ground floor.
Martin Wing, build manager for Shepherd Construction commented: “Work on the new school is progressing at a rate of knots and people will have noticed a real change in recent months. We look forward to delivering an outstanding 21st century learning environment for the pupils and staff.”
Work on the new school is due to complete in January 2012.
