Health and Safety

At Shepherd Construction Ltd there is no function that has greater importance than the management of Health & Safety (H&S), and we seek to achieve the highest H&S standards and aspire to become the industry leader in H&S performance. We do not pursue this aim simply to comply with legislation; we do it because we know it significantly contributes to our overall business performance and protects our people from harm.

Prevention is not only better, but also more economical than cure. There is no necessary conflict between humanitarianism and commercial considerations. Profits and good health and safety performance are not in competition. On the contrary, good health and safety performance is good business.

Shepherd Construction is committed to;

  • Ensuring the health, safety and welfare of our employees, contractors, visitors, customers and members of the public;
  • Ensuring that decisions about other priorities take suitable and sufficient account of health and safety requirements;
  • Continual improvement in our health and safety performance and standards
  • All employees being held accountable for the delivery of their H&S responsibilities both collectively and individually.

In addition we have a dedicated H&S team that are committed to help ensuring that Shepherd Construction meets all its H&S commitments and objectives. They provide competent advice and guidance as well as ensuring the business applies the H&S standards we have set in our OHSAS 18001:2007 accredidated management system. We do this by following a simple process;
