Year 11 Students Visit Richmond School

Continuing the excellent relationship built with staff and students at Richmond School, Shepherd’s project team recently hosted two visits.

The year 11 students were invited to visit the site, with key members of staff, to look at the progress of the new Sports Hall and the refurbishment of the Grade II listed sixth form building.

The students were given a tour of the site, which highlighted some of the construction methods being used and the logistical planning that has ensured school life continues without disruption.

Steel Work Nears Completion – November 2008

The steelwork programme on Shepherd Construction’s project at Richmond School is now nearing completion.

The 5-week programme has involved over 500 pieces of steel, weighing 144 tonnes, being lifted into place to form the structure of what will become the new sports hall. As part of the school's extended services the sports hall will be made available to young people and adults from the local community, and represents a major improvement to local sports provision.
The steel works are scheduled to be complete in late November ahead of the completion of the first phase of works in Summer 2009. With the steel work now near completion, works are beginning on the external envelope.
