The new Centre will include a 25m, eight-lane swimming pool, learner pool, health and fitness suite, four squash courts and meeting rooms. The learner pool will have a moveable floor, which can be raised or lowered depending on teaching requirements. The centre forms a key part of the £175m urban village project and has led the way in promoting economic development in the area, through creation of local jobs, skills training and employing local supply chain partners.
