As the first student accommodation building in the UK to be accredited to the PassivHaus standard, Carnegie Village adopts a ground-breaking design to reduce the carbon footprint of the University’s student accommodation. As well as energy saving features throughout the scheme, the project itself is made up of 13% recycled materials. The accommodation comprises six blocks, with a mixture of townhouses, which accommodate between nine and twelve students, and cluster flats, providing a total of 479 bedrooms across the development. The scheme achieved a BREEAM excellent rating.
