The new centre incorporates out-patient day care, 100 beds over four wards and a two-storey academic block and pathology and pharmacy areas. The latest technology has been installed to provide palliative care for patients with cancer and blood disorders. The centre has been designed around a small residential village theme and focuses on patient needs, well-being and recovery. Sustainability was introduced throughout the design and the building delivers a 20% improvement in energy efficiency above current building regulations.
