Refurbishment of a Grade II listed 6th form building and existing secondary school, together with the erection of a new school building with glazed link bridge and bistro area to provide facilities for over 1700 students.  A new sports hall has also been created.  The school features a number of sustainability credentials including a sedum roof, biomass boilers, rainwater harvesting, passivent systems and four wind turbines which provide up to 7% of the school’s energy needs.

The key challenge of this project has been working in a “live” school environment and works have been scheduled around phased handovers to ensure there is no disruption to learning.
