The centre comprises both indoor and outdoor facilities, including an indoor 200m track, a 130m-sprint track and permanent seating for 500 spectators. Externally there is a full 8-lane, 400 track and both throw and jump areas.

A multi-level sport, leisure and retail complex, located near to Leeds. At the heart of the scheme is a real ski slope measuring 175m x 37.5m.

This new development is sited in the heart of the Alton Towers theme park. Splash Landings includes a 216-bed themed hotel, a 450-delegate conference centre and indoor water park.

The new Centre will include a 25m, eight-lane swimming pool, learner pool, health and fitness suite, four squash courts and meeting rooms.

One of the UK’s biggest library development projects being delivered through the Government’s PFI programme, to create a modern 21st Century library, with archiving facilities.

This stunning project involved the construction of a luxury 61 bed, five-star Hotel with new health club and spa facilities.

Contractor Hatches Early Easter Surprise For Nursery
Toddlers at the University of Warwick’s nursery had an early Easter surprise this week after the contractor building the new halls of residence on the campus organised an egg hunt. 
Building Work Completes On University Of York Library
National contractor Shepherd Construction has completed the £14 million refurbishment of the University of York’s J B Morrell Library.

The contractor has been on-site at the Heslington West Campus since January 2010 and the project has totally transformed the library into a modern studying environment. One of the last sections to be refurbished has been the ground floor café which is now a contemporary space complete with sofas, plasma screens and laptop drop-in area.
Drax announces contract with Shepherd
Drax has today announced that it has entered into a contract with the Shepherd Group (“Shepherd”) for biomass-related construction works at the Drax Power Station site.

Last month, Drax confirmed its plans to invest £50 million this year in new biomass storage and handling facilities and other plant modifications to secure full benefit from its existing co-firing facilities. The contract with Shepherd will assist in delivering the capability to produce up to 20% of the power station’s output from sustainable biomass.
Full Glory Of Liverpool Central Library Picton Reading Room Re-Emerges As Work Progresses
After 12 months of painstaking restoration, the full glory of Liverpool Central Library’s historic Picton Reading Room is now emerging as work on the interior reaches its final phase.

Work on the Picton Reading Room is due to be completed in June 2012 and the construction team is now sympathetically restoring the intricate detailing to the domed ceiling and repairing all the timber bookcases. 
Coventry Pupils Turn Building Site Hoardings Into Art
Pupils from three Coventry schools have turned a set of hoardings bordering the construction site at the University of Warwick into works of art.

Pupils from The Westwood Academy, Charter Primary School and Cannon Park Primary School have designed and painted artwork based on their aspirations for the future and their interpretation of life as a student on a university campus. They have been mentored by artist Jo Buffery in conjunction with Warwick Arts Centre. 
BID TO INCREASE THE NUMBER OF HERITAGE SKILLS TRAINEES
Cheshire West and Chester Council is currently recruiting for more heritage skills trainees and has put an additional bid in to the Heritage Lottery Fund for further funding. 

Executive Member for Culture, Councillor Stuart Parker said: “We are hoping the additional funding bid to the Heritage Lottery Fund for five more heritage skills trainees will be successful.
